About the Webinar:
In 1950, there were about 220.500.000 persons older than 60 years of age (8.1% of the total world population), whereas today there are 1.186.000.000 (14.6% of the total population). This sharp increase represents an enormous opportunity for societies in terms of organization of all services. This older population has an enormous potential to continue to the communities though many times, it faces multiple barriers in doing so. Worse, it is becoming increasingly difficult for older persons to remain engaged in the workforce because of stigma and discrimination. One of the most frequent recommendations to healthy ageing is to remain active. This means that the ability to continue to contribute to the family, and the community, as a voluntary activity or via a paid job, protects and promotes older persons’ health, and mental health, combats isolation and loneliness, promotes social inclusion and reduces the economic burden for society.
The theme proposed by the WFMH to the World Mental Health Day 2025 is “It’s time to prioritise mental health in the workplace”. At this occasion, WPA-SOAP, IPA, and ILC collaborate with WFMH and organize a webinar titled: “Work for All Ages: Embracing Diversity, Driving Growth”.
Specialists from different horizons will give their contribution and be available to respond on-line to questions from the audience.
