Zena Simces
Board Member
Zena Simces is a health and social policy senior consultant with over 30 years of experience in managing complex projects and acting as a change agent. Zena has a unique combination of expertise in research, program evaluation, strategic planning, policy and program development and project management along with a solid background in community consultation/facilitation, and communications.
She has worked at the national, provincial and community levels in New Brunswick, Ontario and British Columbia both in government and the not-for-profit sector. She established the first community-based services for seniors program in New Brunswick in the 1980’s. Many of her projects have focused on improving the health and well-being of older adults.
She is a member of the National Seniors Council since 2021. She has organized lectures and dialogues in human rights with the Atlantic Human Rights Centre in Fredericton, New Brunswick for over 30 years and for the past 6 years with the Canadian Museum for Human Rights on a wide range of topics including the right to housing, the impact of the environment, technology and ageism on human rights.
She has written and published a book, You Can Make A Difference: A Guide to Being A Great Consultant, which outlines ways for managers and leaders to make a difference in today's complex world.
