We invite you to a special meeting of CCAA Organizational Members on February 24 at 2:00 PM (ET) to discuss a pivotal development in global human rights for older persons.
This session will feature Kejian Chen, Associate Human Rights Officer, and Dr. Chitralekha Marie Massey, Chief of Section, Rights of Older Persons, from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). They will provide key insights into the upcoming UN Human Rights Council (HRC) Resolution, which is set to be considered in March 2025.
The resolution is a crucial step toward establishing a legally binding UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons, addressing persistent and systemic age-based human rights violations. Our speakers will discuss the implications for Canada and the global aging community, highlighting the need for strong advocacy and leadership.
This is an opportunity to engage with UN human rights experts and align our collective efforts to advance the rights of older persons. Further details to follow.
We strongly encourage your participation in this critical conversation.
